The frame is solid metal, and the sapphire carries the light on its own. Friction post and back. The stone is natural corundum without color, graded AA by our supplier. Corundum sits at 9 on the Mohs scale, just under diamond. This stone may have been heat treated to improve color and clarity. Warm water, a mild soap and a soft brush are all it needs.
