SolitaireEngagementRings

A solitaire engagement ring holds a single diamond on a clean band, the oldest and most enduring way to set a center stone. With nothing else competing for attention, every bit of light goes into the one diamond, so a well-cut center looks its brightest and its largest. Every solitaire in this collection is shown complete with a real, independently certified lab-grown center diamond at one honest all-in price (no setting-only teaser), in solid 10K, 14K, or 18K gold and platinum, with the center offered in oval, round, cushion, pear, princess, and marquise cuts and each ring finished to your size. Styles range from a plain classic solitaire to a lifted cathedral, a sharp knife-edge, a twisted rope, a bypass, and softly sculptural bands, so you can keep it timeless or add a quiet signature.

Solitaire Engagement Rings FAQ

What is a solitaire engagement ring?

A solitaire engagement ring is a ring set with a single diamond and no accent stones. The center sits on a band that may be plain, twisted, or sculpted, but the diamond stands on its own with nothing surrounding it. It is the most classic engagement ring style and the one most people picture when they think of a diamond ring. Every solitaire in this collection is shown complete with a real, independently certified lab-grown center diamond, so what you see on the page is the finished ring, not a bare setting.

Does a solitaire make the diamond look bigger or smaller?

A solitaire lets the diamond look like exactly what it is, and often a touch larger. Because there are no smaller stones next to it for comparison, the eye reads the center on its own terms, and a well-cut stone on a slim band can look generous for its carat weight. A thinner band makes the center look larger by contrast, while a wider band reads more substantial overall. If your goal is to show off a single beautiful stone rather than a lot of sparkle, the solitaire is the setting that does it best.

Which solitaire style should I choose?

Start with the feeling you want. A classic solitaire on a plain band is timeless and never goes out of style. A cathedral solitaire lifts the stone with graceful arches for a little more height and presence. A knife-edge or twisted rope band adds a bright signature without any extra stones. A bypass or crossover band gives a modern, moving line, and a sculptural band brings an artful, hand-shaped gallery. The prong style matters too: twin, split, claw, and V-prong heads each hold the stone a little differently and change the look from the top. Use the comparison table above to match a style to the hand it is going on.

Are lab-grown diamonds real diamonds?

Yes. A lab-grown diamond is chemically, physically, and optically the same material as a mined diamond, pure crystallized carbon, grown in a matter of weeks rather than over a billion years. It is not a simulant like moissanite or cubic zirconia; it tests as diamond because it is diamond. The center of every ring in this collection is a lab-grown stone graded by an independent laboratory such as GCAL, IGI, or GIA, and each ring links to its certificate. Choosing lab-grown is what lets you set a larger, cleaner center in a simple solitaire for the same budget, since you are paying for a real diamond without the mined premium.

What carat size looks best in a solitaire?

There is no single right answer, because a solitaire flatters a wide range of sizes. On a slender hand, a 0.7 to 1 carat center looks balanced and elegant. If you want a clear statement, a 1.5 to 2 carat stone reads generous without overwhelming the finger. Shape plays a part too: elongated cuts like oval, pear, and marquise cover more of the finger and look larger than a round of the same weight. The rings in this collection span roughly 0.6 to 2.1 carats so you can find the balance that suits the wearer, and our concierge can size a center up or down if you have a specific look in mind.

What does the all-in price include?

Everything you see on the ring. The price covers the setting and the certified lab-grown center diamond, set and finished to your ring size. We do not show a low setting-only figure and then add the diamond at checkout. If you would like a larger center, a different color or clarity, or natural diamonds instead of lab-grown, our concierge can quote and hand-select the stone for you, but the number on the page is the price of the complete ring as shown.

How long does a solitaire take to make?

Each ring is made to order. Because the center is set and the band is finished in your exact size, most rings ship within about two to three weeks. If you are working toward a proposal date or an anniversary, tell us when you need it and we will confirm the timeline before you order and do our best to prioritize it.

Can I add a matching wedding band to a solitaire later?

Yes, and solitaires are the easiest style to pair. Because the band sits flat with no halo or side stones in the way, most plain, pave, or shaped wedding bands nest cleanly against a solitaire. You can match the metal exactly or mix tones for contrast, and you can add the band whenever you are ready. Tell our concierge which solitaire you have chosen and we will recommend a band that sits well against it.
