Details
A halo of small accents rings an emerald cut blue topaz and gathers extra light around its cool blue steps. Wear it as a cocktail ring or the crown of a stack on the right hand. Choose London Blue, Swiss Blue or Sky Blue, three real topaz varieties separated only by depth of colour. Every one is irradiated and warmed to its blue, which is standard practice across the trade, and we say so rather than imply the stone is untouched. The halo shelters a brittle stone that cleaves under a knock. Select your metal, carat and variety below and we finish it to size.
Shown complete with a real Emerald-Cut blue topaz center from 0.7 to 2 carat, a london blue topaz (deep steely blue), swiss blue topaz (vivid electric blue), or sky blue topaz (pale watery blue), your choice, from $2,019 all-in. The price is the finished ring: the setting, the blue topaz center you choose, and the labor to set and size it. Blue topaz rates 8 on the Mohs scale, so it is hard, but it has a perfect cleavage plane, which means a sharp knock can split it; a protective setting suits it and it is best removed for gardening, the gym, and rough work. Almost all blue topaz is irradiated and heat treated from colourless topaz to reach its blue, a standard, stable and permanent step that is cleared for sale before the stone ships, and we disclose it plainly rather than claim the stone is untreated. These calibrated stones ship without an individual lab report. Want a certified or larger center? Contact our concierge and we will source and quote it honestly.

Questions
What is at the center? A real Emerald-Cut blue topaz, from 0.7 to 2 carat, a london blue topaz (deep steely blue), swiss blue topaz (vivid electric blue), or sky blue topaz (pale watery blue), your choice. Choose the carat, metal, and blue on this page.
Is this an engagement ring or a fashion ring? This is a fashion ring, made for the right hand, a stack, or a self-purchase rather than a proposal. Wear it however you like.
Is blue topaz hard enough for everyday wear? Blue topaz is hard, an 8 on the Mohs scale, so it resists ordinary scratches well. Its one weakness is a perfect cleavage plane, so a sharp knock in the wrong place can split or chip it. We say so plainly. This design shelters the stone, and we recommend removing the ring for gardening, the gym, cleaning, and rough work.
Which blue should I choose? All three are the same stone, natural topaz, and they differ only in the depth of blue. London Blue is the deepest, an inky steely blue. Swiss Blue is the most vivid, an almost electric blue. Sky Blue is the palest, a soft watery tone close to aquamarine. You pick the blue you love above, and the price reflects the variety you choose.
Is the blue topaz treated? Almost certainly, and we tell you so. Nearly all blue topaz starts as colourless topaz and is irradiated and then heat treated to bring out its blue. The treatment is standard across the industry, it is permanent, it does not fade, and the stones are cleared for sale before they reach us. We would rather name the step than imply your topaz is untouched.
What about mystic or rainbow topaz? Mystic topaz has a thin metallic coating on the surface that can wear or scratch over time. It is a different product from the solid blue topaz we set, so we leave it out and you always know exactly what you are buying.
How do I care for it? Clean it with warm water, a little mild soap, and a soft brush, and skip ultrasonic and steam cleaners, which can find the cleavage in a brittle stone. Take it off for rough or abrasive work and have the setting checked once a year.
Does it come with a certificate? These calibrated stones ship without an individual lab report. We hand-check every one for even colour and a clean face.
Is the price all-in? Yes. The price is the complete ring with the blue topaz you select, set and sized to order.
