Blue Topaz Necklace with a Diamond Bow

A sculpted metal bow sits above a 7 x 5 mm oval London blue topaz, and a fine line of natural diamonds traces the stone all the way round. The bow is solid gold, not stone-set, which is why it keeps its shape and its shine — and why it reads as a ribbon rather than a cluster.

It is the only figurative piece in the collection: everything else here is geometry. On an adjustable 16-to-18-inch cable chain in solid 14K white, yellow or rose gold, or platinum.

Centre stone: 7 x 5 mm oval-cut natural blue topaz. Setting: four-prong oval centre, diamond halo, sculpted metal bow above. Pendant 18.4 x 9.6 mm. 1 mm cable chain with a lobster clasp, adjustable to 16 or 18 inches, included. Accented with natural diamonds, G-H colour, I1 clarity. .08 CTW total weight.

Blue topaz is colourless natural topaz that has been irradiated and heat-treated to bring out its permanent blue colour — a standard, stable industry treatment. The colour does not fade with normal wear. Topaz has perfect basal cleavage: clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush, and keep it away from ultrasonic cleaners, steam and sudden temperature change.
