Blue Topaz Necklace with Diamond Halo

A 7 mm round London blue topaz sits flush in a polished bezel, ringed by a full circle of natural diamonds — a quarter carat of them, set all the way around with no gap at the bottom. The bezel does the work a claw setting cannot: it wraps the girdle completely, so the stone is protected on every side and the outline stays clean against skin.

This is the largest and brightest piece in the collection, and the one that reads from across a room. On an adjustable 16-to-18-inch cable chain in solid 14K white, yellow or rose gold, or platinum.

Centre stone: 7 mm round-cut natural blue topaz. Setting: bezel-set centre with a full round diamond halo. Pendant 11.9 x 11.8 mm. 1 mm cable chain with a lobster clasp, adjustable to 16 or 18 inches, included. Accented with natural diamonds, G-H colour, I1 clarity. 1/4 CTW total weight.

Blue topaz is colourless natural topaz that has been irradiated and heat-treated to bring out its permanent blue colour — a standard, stable industry treatment. The colour does not fade with normal wear. Topaz has perfect basal cleavage: clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush, and keep it away from ultrasonic cleaners, steam and sudden temperature change.
