Details
The Ethiopian Opal & Diamond Cluster Ring centres on a genuine natural ethiopian opal, its translucent crystal body with broad play-of-colour shifting as the light moves. Set as a diamond-accented opal, the round cabochon is cut to show opal's signature flash of colour at roughly 2.5 Mm.
diamond accent of natural diamonds accent the design, disclosed with equal prominence to the natural opal centre. Every stone is real: the opal is natural (never lab-created, imitation, or a doublet or triplet), and the diamonds are natural too.
Opal is a soft, water-bearing gem (about 5.5 to 6.5 on the Mohs scale), so it rewards gentle care: wipe it with a soft, slightly damp cloth, keep it away from heat, harsh chemicals, ultrasonic and steam cleaners, and store it on its own. Worn thoughtfully, it stays luminous for a lifetime. Set in solid gold - never plated.
A meaningful gift. Opal is the birthstone for October and the traditional gem of the 14th wedding anniversary, making this ring a thoughtful choice for an autumn birthday, an anniversary, or simply a gift with a little colour and meaning.
Quick answers
Stone: natural ethiopian opal, 2.5 Mm.
Setting: a diamond-accented opal.
Diamond accent: diamond accent natural diamond, disclosed with equal prominence to the natural opal centre (FTC 16 CFR 23.25).
Metal: 14K White Gold / 14K Yellow Gold / 14K Rose Gold, solid gold (not plated).
Is this a natural opal? Yes - every centre is a genuine natural opal, not lab-created, not imitation, and not a doublet or triplet. Ethiopian (Welo) opal is a hydrophane opal, so keep it away from water immersion, oils and cosmetics. As is standard in the trade, some opals are stabilised; the stone itself is natural opal.
How do I care for an opal ring? Opal is softer and more delicate than most gems (Mohs 5.5 to 6.5). Clean it with a soft, slightly damp cloth, avoid heat, harsh chemicals, ultrasonic and steam cleaners, remove it for rough tasks, and store it separately.
What does opal symbolise? Opal is October's birthstone and the gem of the 14th wedding anniversary, long associated with hope, creativity and change.
