Details
A marquise-cut purple amethyst stretches long across a band lined with channel-set accents, so a thread of light runs right up to the pointed center. It is a slim, wearable statement for the right hand with plenty of presence. The center runs 0.75 to 2.85 carat in natural amethyst, genuine mined quartz. Amethyst rates 7 on the Mohs scale, softer than a ruby, so the low channel seat protects the delicate points of a marquise cut. Natural amethyst is heat-treated as standard to deepen its purple, a permanent step. We offer this shape in natural amethyst only, since there is no priced lab-grown amethyst at these seats, and we would rather say so. Choose your metal and carat, and we size the ring to order.
Shown complete with a real Marquise purple amethyst center from 0.75 to 2.85 carat, a natural purple amethyst, from $1,729 all-in. The price is the finished ring: setting, the amethyst center you choose, and the labor to set and size it. Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz and rates 7 on the Mohs scale, softer than sapphire or ruby at 9 and diamond at 10, so it is a little more scratch-prone and does best in a protective setting with a touch of everyday care. Natural amethyst is commonly heat-treated to even and deepen its purple, a standard and permanent practice; a lab-created amethyst is true quartz grown clean and priced lower. We never sell imitation or simulant amethyst. These calibrated stones ship without an individual lab report. Want a larger or finer natural amethyst? Contact our concierge and we will quote it honestly.

Questions
What is at the center? A real natural Marquise purple amethyst, from 0.75 to 2.85 carat. Choose the carat and metal on this page.
Is this an engagement ring or a fashion ring? This is a fashion ring, made for the right hand, a stack or a self-purchase rather than a proposal. Wear it however you like.
Lab-created or natural, what is the difference? Both are true amethyst, the purple variety of quartz, with the same chemistry, hardness and color. A lab-created amethyst is grown in a controlled environment, so it tends to look cleaner and costs less; a natural amethyst is earth-mined, one of a kind, and commonly heat-treated to even its purple. We price each honestly.
How durable is an amethyst ring? Amethyst is quartz and rates 7 on the Mohs scale, so it is softer than sapphire or ruby and more prone to scratches over time. It is very wearable, but it likes a protective setting and a little care: take it off for rough work and clean it gently. That is why most of these designs are bezel, halo, cluster or accented styles that shield the stone.
Is the amethyst treated? Most natural amethyst on the market is gently heat-treated to even and deepen its purple, a standard and permanent practice that does not make the stone any less real. Lab-created amethyst is grown clean and is not oiled or filled.
Do you sell imitation amethyst? No. Every amethyst here is genuine quartz, either natural or lab-created, never glass, synthetic corundum or cubic zirconia sold as amethyst. We screen for this before a stone is listed.
Does it come with a certificate? These calibrated stones ship without an individual lab report. We hand-select every one for even purple color and a clean face, and can source a finer or larger natural amethyst on request.
Is the price all-in? Yes. The price is the complete ring with the amethyst you select, set and sized to order.
