The center runs 0.74 to 2.66 carat, lab-created or natural, both solid opal, never a doublet or triplet. Lab-created is grown cleaner and brighter for less; natural is earth-mined and unrepeatable. White, black-body, or fire opal are on offer. Opal is delicate at 5.5 to 6.5 Mohs, softer than amethyst, so keep it clear of steam and knocks. The bezel does the shielding. We set solid opal only, never a doublet or triplet, and never imitation or dyed opal, so the color you see is the whole stone.
