Details
Metalwork curls into leaves and petals around a pear-shaped red ruby, a floral head that gives the stone a little garden of its own. It is a self-purchase piece for the right hand, not a bridal one. The center spans 0.81 to 2.59 carat, lab-created or natural ruby, both real corundum with the same red. Because ruby rates 9 on the Mohs scale it wears well every day. A natural ruby is heat-treated by long practice to improve its color; a lab ruby is grown cleaner for less, and both are genuine red corundum. Set your metal, carat, and stone type, and every ring is finished to your size.
Shown complete with a real Pear red ruby center from 0.81 to 2.59 carat, your choice of a lab-created or natural red ruby, from $1,539 all-in. The price is the finished ring: setting, the ruby center you choose, and the labor to set and size it. Ruby is corundum at 9 on the Mohs scale, the same hardness as sapphire and second only to diamond, so it wears well every day. Virtually all natural ruby is heat-treated to improve its red color, a standard and permanent practice; a lab-created ruby is true corundum grown clean and priced lower. We never sell lead-glass-filled or composite ruby. These calibrated stones ship without an individual lab report. Want a certified natural ruby or a larger stone? Contact our concierge and we will quote it honestly.

Questions
What is at the center? A real Pear red ruby, offered as lab-created or natural, from 0.81 to 2.59 carat. Choose the carat, stone type and metal on this page.
Is this an engagement ring or a fashion ring? This is a fashion ring, made for the right hand, a stack or a self-purchase rather than a proposal. Wear it however you like.
Lab-created or natural, what is the difference? Both are true ruby, the red variety of corundum, with the same chemistry, hardness and color. A lab-created ruby is grown in a controlled environment, so it tends to look cleaner and costs less; a natural ruby is earth-mined, one of a kind, and almost always heat-treated to bring out its color. We price each honestly.
How durable is a ruby ring? Ruby rates 9 on the Mohs scale, the same as sapphire and just below diamond, so it is one of the toughest colored stones you can wear daily. It needs far less protection than a softer gem such as emerald.
Do you sell glass-filled ruby? No. Every natural ruby here is a genuine, solid corundum stone that is heat-treated or untreated, never lead-glass-filled or composite. We screen for this before a stone is listed.
Does it come with a certificate? These calibrated rubies ship without an individual lab report. We hand-check every one for even red color and a clean face, and can source a certified natural ruby on request.
Is the price all-in? Yes. The price is the complete ring with the ruby you select, set and sized to order.
