Details
A pear tanzanite tapers to a soft point inside a full bezel, its blue-violet held safe behind a smooth rim of metal. The pointed tip is the spot a soft stone most needs guarding, and the bezel does exactly that; tanzanite is only 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale and cleaves along a plane. This is a fashion ring for the right hand, not a bridal one. The stone is a genuine natural tanzanite, heat treated to reach its colour, a standard and permanent step we disclose plainly. Choose your metal and carat below and we set and size it to order.
Shown complete with a real Pear natural tanzanite center from 0.72 to 0.72 carat, from $3,289 all-in. The price is the finished ring: the setting, the tanzanite center you choose, and the labor to set and size it. Tanzanite is blue-violet zoisite at 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale, soft and cleavable, so we build it into protective settings, hand select every stone, and recommend removing the ring for the gym, the garden and rough work. Virtually all tanzanite is heat treated from a brownish rough to reach its blue-violet, a standard and permanent step we disclose plainly rather than claim the stone is untreated. These calibrated stones ship without an individual lab report. Want a certified or larger center? Contact our concierge and we will source and quote it honestly.

Questions
What is at the center? A real natural Pear tanzanite, from 0.72 to 0.72 carat, its colour shifting between blue and violet as you move it. Choose the carat and metal on this page.
Is this an engagement ring or a fashion ring? This is a fashion ring, made for the right hand, a stack or a self purchase rather than a proposal. Wear it however you like.
Is the tanzanite natural? Yes. Every center is a natural, earth mined tanzanite from Tanzania, the only place it is found. There is no lab grown tanzanite here; the trade does not make one, and we would rather set the real stone than a simulant.
Is it treated? Almost all tanzanite is gently heated from a brownish rough to reach its blue-violet. The treatment is standard, permanent and does not fade, and we say so rather than imply the stone is untouched.
Why does the ring use a protective setting? Tanzanite is soft, 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale, and it cleaves, so a sharp knock on an exposed edge can chip or split it. A bezel, halo, cluster or channel shelters the stone, which is why we favor those designs here, and why we suggest removing it for rough work.
Does it come with a certificate? These calibrated tanzanite ship without an individual lab report. We hand check every one for even blue-violet colour and a clean face, and can source a certified or larger stone on request.
