Diamond Wedding Bands FAQ
What is the difference between an anniversary band, an eternity band, and a plain wedding band?
A plain wedding band is solid metal with no stones. A diamond anniversary band sets a short run of diamonds, most often five or seven larger stones, across the top of the finger and leaves the back of the ring plain. That gives you a lot of visible sparkle, keeps the ring comfortable, and lets a jeweler resize it easily, since the plain underside is where the size change happens. A diamond eternity band takes it further and runs diamonds the entire way around the circle, so the ring glitters from every angle with no plain section at all. The trade is that a full eternity band is difficult to resize, because there is no plain metal to cut and rejoin, which is why we build each one to your exact finger. In this collection you will find all three: plain bands live in the wider wedding band collections, while everything here is diamond-set.
Are these lab-grown or natural diamonds?
Most bands here let you choose. Look for the Diamond Type option on the product, where you can pick Lab-Grown or Natural at the same setting, priced side by side. Both are real diamonds. A lab-grown diamond is chemically and optically identical to a mined one, the same crystallized carbon with the same hardness and the same sparkle, grown in a controlled process over weeks instead of forming underground over ages. It is not a simulant like moissanite or cubic zirconia. The only real difference is price: a lab-grown diamond costs a fraction of a mined stone of the same size and grade, which is what lets you put more carat weight or a fuller circle of diamonds on the finger for the same money. A handful of bands are offered in a single lane, and the product page always says which.
How does carat weight work on an eternity band, and why does it change with ring size?
On an eternity band the diamonds circle the whole ring, so a larger finger simply holds more of them. That means the total carat weight, and the price, rise with the ring size: a size nine eternity band carries more diamond than a size five in the same design, because the circle is longer. When you choose your ring size on an eternity band, the carat weight is set to match so the stones stay evenly spaced the whole way around with no awkward gap. On an anniversary band the diamonds sit only across the top, so the carat weight is a choice you make directly rather than something the finger size dictates, and most of ours offer several carat weights to pick from.
Can a diamond wedding band be resized?
An anniversary band resizes well, because the plain underside gives a jeweler metal to cut and rejoin without disturbing the diamonds. A full eternity band is another matter: with stones all the way around there is no plain section to work with, so resizing usually means rebuilding part of the ring, and even then only within a narrow range. That is why we make every band to order and set it to your exact finger before it ships, rather than sizing it afterward. Tell us the size up front and we will get it right the first time, and if you are unsure, our concierge can help you measure or hold a couple of sizes while you decide.
Which metal should I choose, and will it match my engagement ring?
Each band is made in solid 14K white, yellow, or rose gold or in platinum, so you can match the band to the ring you already wear. White gold and platinum both read as a bright silver-white and suit most engagement rings, with platinum being denser, naturally white so it never needs re-plating, and the most premium of the two. Yellow and rose gold make a warmer, more traditional statement. If your engagement ring is white gold and you want a perfect match, choose white gold or platinum here. If you would like the band to sit truly flush against a specific ring profile, tell our concierge the engagement ring you own and we will match the metal and the fit.
Do men's diamond bands look too flashy?
They do not have to. The men's bands in this collection set diamonds the discreet way. Star-set and flush-set designs drop each stone below the surface of the metal and cut the surround by hand, so the ring wears like a solid band and only reveals the diamonds up close. Channel-set and milgrain-framed bands tuck the stones into a groove or a beaded border rather than raising them on prongs. Carat weights are deliberately subtle, often a fraction of a carat spread across several small stones, so the effect is texture and quiet light rather than a bright line of sparkle. It is a way to wear diamonds without wearing a delicate ring.
What is the price range, and what does the price include?
Diamond wedding bands here start at about 589 dollars for a delicate lab-grown seven-stone anniversary band and climb through fuller eternity circles, fancy-shape bands, and men's designs as the carat weight, the metal, and the number of stones grow. The price on the page is honest and all-in: it covers the band and its diamonds, set and finished to your ring size. We never show a low setting-only figure and add the stones at checkout. Choosing the natural diamond lane, a heavier carat weight, a fuller circle, or platinum raises the price, and every option is shown on the product so you can see exactly what changes the number before you buy.
How do I pair a diamond wedding band with an engagement ring?
Start with the metal, then the profile. Match the band to the metal of the engagement ring so the two read as a set, then look at how they sit together on the finger. A low-profile or shared-prong band nestles close against a solitaire or a halo without fighting it, while a bolder channel or a fancy-shape eternity band makes more of a statement on its own. Anniversary bands, with their plain underside, tuck neatly beside an engagement ring and are easy to wear on the same finger. If you would like the two to sit perfectly flush with no gap, our concierge can match a band to the exact engagement ring you own, whether it came from us or elsewhere. You can browse our round, oval, and vintage-style rings for the ring itself.
How do I care for a diamond wedding band?
The care is simple. Soak the band for a few minutes in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap, then work a soft toothbrush gently around the diamonds and behind the setting, where lotion and everyday grime gather and dull the sparkle. Rinse and pat dry with a lint-free cloth. Take the ring off for heavy lifting, gardening, and the gym, where a hard knock can chip a stone or bend a prong, and keep it away from harsh chemicals and chlorine. Have the band checked once a year so a jeweler can tighten any loosened stones early, which is exactly how a daily-wear ring survives decades of daily wear. Bring it to us and we will clean and inspect it for you.
How long do the bands take, and can you customize one?
Because every band is made and set to order, most ship within about two to three weeks, and the product page shows the timing for each design. That made-to-order approach is also what lets us tailor a band to you. We can adjust the carat weight, switch a design between lab-grown and natural diamonds, build a metal we have not shown, match a band to an engagement ring you already own, or work out a fancy-shape eternity band in your exact size. Reach out to our concierge with what you have in mind and we will quote and build it, and the number we give you is the price of the complete band with its diamonds, just like the ones shown here.
