Seen from above, nothing gives it away: a clean circle of 2.5 mm rounds in shared prongs, bright and traditional. Turn it sideways and the gallery reveals a row of open hearts cut into the metal beneath the stones, visible only to the wearer and anyone she chooses to show. Jewelers call these maker's secrets; recipients tend to call them the reason they cried. The hearts also lighten the band for all-day comfort.
