Wedding Bands & Eternity Rings FAQ
What is the difference between a wedding band, an eternity band and an anniversary band?
A wedding band is the ring exchanged at the ceremony, and it can be plain metal or set with diamonds. An eternity band is set with stones all the way around the finger, so it shows sparkle from every angle. An anniversary band sets its diamonds across the top only, leaving the lower part of the band plain and smooth against neighboring fingers. Any of the three can be worn as a wedding ring, and an anniversary or eternity band can also be added later to mark a milestone. Browse our diamond eternity bands and anniversary bands to compare the two diamond styles side by side.
Which wedding band goes with my engagement ring?
Start with metal. A band in the same metal and color as the engagement ring keeps the pair looking consistent, and it avoids two different alloys rubbing against each other every day. Next, consider profile. A slim pavé or French-set band sits neatly beside a solitaire, while a bold shared-prong or bezel-set band suits a simpler engagement ring or works well worn on its own. If the engagement ring has a low halo or a wide setting, look at how the band sits beside it in the product images before choosing. Our women's wedding bands page gathers slim and bold styles to compare. The concierge team can help with a specific match.
What men's wedding band styles do you offer?
Our men's wedding bands range from solid gold to diamond. The men's gold wedding bands page holds plain metal styles such as hammer-finish and half-round profiles, the most traditional choice and the easiest to wear through work and sport. For more presence, diamond styles include channel-set bands, where the diamonds sit flush within the metal, and solitaire designs, such as an emerald-cut lab-grown men's diamond band. Every diamond is labeled natural or lab-grown on the product page. Metals include 14K and 18K white, yellow and rose gold and platinum, and each band is made to your ring size when you order. Check the product page for the width of each design.
Which metal is best for a wedding band?
Choose the metal that matches your engagement ring, or the one you already wear every day. Platinum and white gold give a cool, bright look. Yellow gold is the traditional choice, and rose gold adds a soft pink tone. This collection offers 14K and 18K white, yellow and rose gold plus platinum, with 10K white gold on a few designs. 18K holds a higher share of pure gold than 14K, which gives yellow and rose gold a richer color, while 14K contains more alloy. Any metal will gather fine surface marks over years of daily wear, and that patina is normal. Options vary by design, so check each product page.
Are the diamonds in your bands natural or lab-grown?
Both appear in this collection, and every product page states which you are buying. Some product titles also name the origin directly, such as a natural diamond band or a lab-grown men's diamond wedding band. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, chemically and physically the same as mined diamonds, grown in a laboratory. They have the same hardness, 10 on the Mohs scale, and the same look once set. Diamond bands here are catalog pieces sold to a published specification, with the total diamond weight shown on the product page; they do not come with an individual grading report. Ask the concierge team about any specific band before ordering.
How do I choose the right size for a wedding band?
Every band is made to your ring size, which you select when you order. Our sizing guide explains how to find it. Width matters here: a wide band covers more of the finger and can feel snugger than a slim band in the same size, so measure with that in mind if you are choosing a bold style. Measure at the end of the day, when fingers are at their usual size, and not when your hands are cold. If you already wear an engagement ring on the same finger, its size is a good starting point. Because each band is made after you order, getting the size right first saves time.
How much do wedding bands cost?
Wedding bands in this collection start from $394. Every price is complete and all-in, including every diamond set in the band, so nothing is added for the stones at checkout. Price changes with metal, width and diamond weight. A plain gold band or a slim pavé band generally costs less than a bold shared-prong anniversary band or a full eternity band, which carries more diamonds and more metal. The product page updates as you choose metal and size. If you are shopping for two, our women's and men's pages make it easy to compare options in the same metal. Shipping is complimentary and fully insured.
How long does a wedding band take to arrive?
Most bands are made to order and ship in about 5 to 10 business days. Ready-to-ship pieces leave in 2 to 3 business days. Each product page shows its own timing, so check it before ordering if your wedding date is close. Shipping is complimentary, fully insured UPS Express, with a signature required at delivery, so choose an address where someone can sign. We suggest ordering bands well ahead of the wedding so there is time to try them on and, if needed, use the 30-day return window. If the date is tight, write to concierge@diamondandsapphire.com before you order and the team can advise.
How do I care for a diamond band?
Diamond rates 10 on the Mohs scale, so the stones themselves resist scratching. The settings deserve more attention. Pavé and shared-prong bands hold many small diamonds with fine metal beads or prongs, so take the band off for heavy lifting, the gym and gardening, where a hard knock could bend metal. Clean it with warm water, mild soap and a soft brush, and work the brush gently under the stones where lotion and soap collect. Store it apart from other jewelry. Our free lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects, such as a prong or setting failing under normal wear; it does not cover loss, theft or accidental damage.
Can I return a wedding band?
Yes, within 30 days of delivery, as long as the band is unworn and in its original condition. Engraved pieces and custom or bespoke designs are final sale, so confirm the size, metal and any engraving details carefully before ordering one of those. For standard bands, the 30-day window gives you time to see the ring in person and try it next to the engagement ring. Shipping to you is complimentary and fully insured. If something is not right, contact concierge@diamondandsapphire.com first; the team can explain the return steps and help you find a different width, metal or style from the collection.
