A split shank does one job well: it opens a gap under the oval so light gets in from underneath instead of dying against a solid band. This one carries the cathedral arch up into that split without a single accent stone, which is why it reads clean at arm's length and why it is the least expensive way into this collection. Nothing here competes with the centre.
The centre is a calibrated lab-grown oval diamond, F–G colour and VS clarity, offered at 0.40 / 0.75 / 1.10 carats. Calibrated means the stone is cut to a size class rather than sold as a single numbered stone: the carat shown is the class nominal, and the diamond you receive falls inside a tight published range around it. That is the reason this ring costs what it does. If you would rather have an individually selected, individually certificated diamond in this same setting, we will source one and quote it.

Is the price really the whole ring?
Yes. From $1,479 buys the setting and the centre diamond, built and sized to order. There is no second invoice for the stone.
Is the diamond certificated? Not individually. These are calibrated lab-grown ovals — cut to a size class, F–G colour, VS clarity, sold to that specification rather than to a single numbered report. If you want a stone with its own IGI or GIA report, ask us: we will select one for this setting and quote the difference honestly.
What does the carat number actually mean here? It is the class nominal. A 0.40 ct centre is cut to 6x4 mm and falls in the 0.37-0.45 ct range. We publish the range rather than round it up, because a ring that arrives lighter than its listing is the fastest way to lose someone.
Lab-grown — is it a real diamond? Chemically and optically identical to a mined diamond; the difference is where it was made. It tests as diamond and it wears as diamond. What it is not is rare, which is why you can have a 1.10 ct centre at this price.
What if the size is wrong? We resize free for the first year. And if it is not right at all, return it within 30 days.
