A frame of pavé rings the center and hands it more light than its carat would suggest, so a one-carat sapphire wears like something larger. The blue sapphire at the heart is mined and heat-treated, chosen to a rich medium blue and an eye-clean face rather than pulled from a single bin, then set to the carat you pick. Natural G to H diamonds run the halo and shoulders. Choose the shape, the gold and the size; the same halo in lab-grown sapphire costs less if that is the call. Bench-made to order, roughly three to four weeks.
