Akoya is the saltwater pearl, and a 6.0 to 6.5mm one has a tighter, harder shine than a freshwater pearl of the same size. Scattered diamond clusters on both shoulders pick that up rather than compete with it.

On pearl colour. Cultured pearls carry a natural overtone and no two are identical, so the pearl on the piece you receive may read a touch warmer or cooler than the photograph of another metal on this page. That variation is the gem, not a fault.
