A 7 mm opal dome held inside a carved, textured bezel, all of the value in the stone and the metalwork. At 9.6 mm overall around a 7 mm stone, the bezel wall is deep enough to genuinely shoulder the opal, which is exactly what a stone this size needs. No accent stones, no melee: the carved texture of the bezel border does the decorative work.
