Why are baguettes graded higher than the round lines? A step cut has fewer, larger facets and no brilliance to mask inclusions, so it needs cleaner rough to look correct.

Is a baguette line fragile? Corners are the vulnerable point on any step cut. Have the prongs checked once a year and avoid knocking it against hard edges.
