A round faceted Mexican fire opal sits at the ear with a 7x5 mm step-cut citrine hanging beneath it - the only warm-toned pair in the collection and the second, reachable way into fire opal. Mexican fire opal is faceted rather than cut as a cabochon, so it behaves like a transparent gem: it takes light through the stone instead of flashing off a dome.
Made in solid 14K white, yellow or rose gold, or platinum, and sold as a matched pair. 13.8 mm long.
