Half-moon sides close up flat against the center's long edges. Each half-moon side stone has one straight edge and one curved edge. The straight edge sits against the long side of the emerald-cut center, so the three lab-grown diamonds join with almost no gap and form one softly rounded outline. All three are prong-set, with claws over the center's cut corners. The plain band has flat edges and a substantial, tailored feel. Of all the side-stone options, this is the closest geometric match to an emerald cut. It suits a refined, Art Deco eye.
Choose a emerald-cut center from 0.65 to 2.85 carats. Each center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Carat weights are nominal and each size has a published range; the 1.10 ct size, for example, runs 1.05 to 1.28 ct. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, chemically and physically the same as mined ones. Why do half-moons suit an emerald cut so well?
A half-moon's straight edge lines up exactly with the straight long side of an emerald cut, so the stones meet cleanly. The curved outer edges round off the overall shape, softening the rectangle without hiding it. The result looks deliberate and tailored, with a strong Art Deco feel.
What carat sizes does this setting take?
This setting is offered with centers from 0.65 to 2.85 ct. At the smaller end, the three stones read as a neat, compact cluster on the flat-edged band. At 1.85 or 2.85 ct the center takes the lead and the half-moons become a frame. Either way, the sides stay tight against the long edges.
What quality is the center diamond?
Every emerald-cut center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Sizes are sold by nominal carat weight with a published tolerance range, so a stone may weigh slightly over or under the headline figure within that range.
