The largest opal face in the collection, an 8x6 mm Ethiopian cabochon lit by a small crown of natural diamond. Welo opal is the variety that actually flashes, and at 8x6 mm there is enough surface for the play of colour to move as you do. Four claw prongs hold the dome high so light gets underneath it, and three tiny natural diamonds sit above the stone rather than crowding it.

Made in solid 14K white, yellow or rose gold, or platinum, and sold as a matched pair.

The opal is genuine natural Ethiopian (Welo) opal, 8x6 mm. Stuller records the AGTA enhancement code for this opal as Natural, so no treatment is disclosed for the stone. The accent diamonds are natural, G-H colour, .03 ct tw (Stuller published Diamond CTW; approx.) total weight for the pair; our supplier does not publish a clarity grade and we do not state one. Diamond and gemstone carat weights and millimetre sizes are approximate and may vary slightly from the stated figure.

Ethiopian opal is hydrophane, which means it absorbs liquid and can temporarily lose colour or turn translucent. Do not immerse it, remove it before washing or swimming, and never use an ultrasonic or steam cleaner.
