Men's Black Onyx and Diamond Ring, 8 mm Cushion

An 8 x 8 mm checkerboard-cut cushion of natural black onyx held in four corner prongs, flanked by two bead-set bars carrying 1/10 carat total weight of natural diamond — the bright panels doing exactly what a black stone needs, giving the eye an edge to find.

The onyx sits proud in its prongs with the diamond bars set either side of it rather than around it, so this is a dress ring rather than a knockabout one. The top rises 7.3 mm on a 4.08 mm shank.

About the stone: Black onyx used in jewellery is routinely dyed to even its colour; the treatment is standard and permanent.
