Men's Blue Sapphire Ring, 5 mm 14K White Gold

A 5 mm round natural blue sapphire held in four prongs, seated into a square recess at the centre of a broad flat-top band with the shank running 7.25 mm wide at the base. No surrounding stones and no milgrain: just the sapphire and a straight line of metal.

Sapphire is a 9 on the Mohs scale, second only to diamond, which is why it is the right stone for a ring worn every day and not taken off. The top sits 4.5 mm high.

About the stone: Blue sapphire is almost always heat-treated to improve colour — a routine, permanent and stable treatment.
