The most heavily worked piece we build in opal. A 7 by 5 mm opal cabochon sits inside a scrolled gallery nearly 24 mm long, with natural diamonds tracing the engraved frame, a pear-cut pink sapphire at the top and a marquise at the bottom. Edwardian in feel, and heavier in the hand than it looks on screen.
Opal is the birthstone of October and a traditional emblem of hope and imagination, prized for its shifting play-of-color. Set in solid 14K gold or platinum on an adjustable 16 to 18 inch cable chain with a spring ring clasp.

What is the pendant made of?
Solid 14K gold or platinum, 23.62 by 9.73 mm of engraved and milgrained scrollwork, holding a natural opal cabochon with natural diamonds and natural pink sapphire accents.
How much diamond is there?
Approximately 1/10 carat total weight of natural diamonds, G to H colour. Clarity is I1 on the 14K gold versions and SI2 to SI3 on platinum, which is how our supplier specifies each metal.
How do I care for it?
Opal is a soft stone (Mohs 5.5 to 6.5) and is sensitive to knocks, heat and dry air. Put it on last and take it off first, store it away from harder stones, and keep it out of ultrasonic and steam cleaners. The engraved gallery and milgrain hold dust, so a soft dry brush is better than any liquid cleaner.
What chain does it come on?
A solid 14K gold or platinum cable chain, 1 mm wide, adjustable to wear at either 16 or 18 inches, with a spring ring clasp. The chain is included in the price.
