One dark, glossy akoya pearl on a slim gold rope chain, the evening counterpart to a classic white pearl pendant.
The pearl is a 7 mm cultured akoya pearl, color-treated to its black tone; the color is not naturally occurring. It hangs from a solid 14K yellow gold bail on an 18 inch, 1 mm rope chain with a spring ring clasp.
Gold warms the pearl's dark overtones, and the rope chain adds texture without competing with it.
Pearl care: pearls rate only 2.5 to 3 on the Mohs scale, so put this on last, after perfume, hair spray and lotion, and take it off first. Wipe the pearls with a soft, damp cloth after wearing and store the piece on its own, never in a plastic bag. Never use an ultrasonic or steam cleaner.
