A haloed moissanite on a band that twists like a ribbon. Two pavé strands cross and recross down each side of the band, and a halo of small lab-grown diamonds frames the round moissanite. Forty-six accent diamonds in all. The band is about 2.5 mm at the base and the head about 10.6 mm across at the 6.5 mm size.
Choose a round moissanite center of 6 mm, 6.5 mm, 7 mm, 8 mm. Each is a DEF-color, eye-clean moissanite. Moissanite is not a diamond: it is silicon carbide, created in a laboratory, 9.25 on the Mohs hardness scale, and it shows more rainbow fire than a diamond. Sizes are listed in millimeters with the actual carat weight; a 6.5 mm moissanite looks the size of a 1 ct round diamond but weighs about 0.88 ct, because moissanite is lighter than diamond.
Available in 14K white, yellow or rose gold, or platinum. The accent stones are lab-grown diamonds, near-colorless and matched to the setting. Does the twist sit flush with a wedding band?
The twisted strands leave small gaps, so a straight band sits close but not perfectly flush. A slim plain band is the neatest match.
Are the halo stones moissanite?
No. The halo and band stones are lab-grown diamonds; only the center is moissanite.
Is moissanite a diamond?
No. Moissanite is silicon carbide, a different mineral that is created in a laboratory. It is colorless, very hard and very bright, with more rainbow fire than diamond, and it costs far less than a diamond of the same size. The small accent stones on this ring are lab-grown diamonds.
How durable is moissanite?
Moissanite rates 9.25 on the Mohs scale, harder than sapphire and ruby and second only to diamond among common gems, so it suits daily wear. Clean it with warm soapy water and a soft brush.
How long does it take to make?
