The circle that joins the arms makes this a Celtic cross, the form carved on standing stones across Ireland and Scotland for more than a thousand years. Interlaced knotwork is engraved along the upright and the arms, and the ring is ribbed so it catches light.
At 40 by 25 mm it is a confident size for a man, large enough for the knotwork to be read, and it is offered in 14K yellow gold, the color that suits the old engraved pattern best. For a man with Irish or Scottish family it means something specific, which is what makes it a good gift.
