Pear Lab-Grown Diamond Solitaire Necklace

$789.00
Orders of $1,000 or more include our gift: lab-grown diamond studs. Details
A teardrop of light with a clean gold edge. The bezel traces the whole outline of this lab-grown pear, point included, so the most fragile part of the stone is protected and there are no prongs to catch on hair or knitwear. Worn at 16 inches it sits at the base of the neck; at 18 it falls just below the collarbone, where it layers well with a longer chain.

Chain included. It arrives ready to wear on a solid 14K gold 1 mm cable chain, adjustable from 16 to 18 inches, with a spring-ring clasp. The chain is the same gold as the pendant you choose.

It suits the gifts where you want a real diamond without a speech attached: a sister's nursing-school graduation, a birthday that ends in zero, a first Christmas together. The adjustable chain means you never have to ask her preferred length.

The pear itself is lab-grown, 1/5 to 5/8 carat, with VS clarity and F–G color. If the question is whether lab-grown counts, a jeweler's diamond tester will answer it: the stone is the same carbon crystal as a mined one, grown above ground in weeks rather than below it over billions of years. At VS the inclusions need magnification to find, and F–G color stays crisp against white gold.

Approximate diamond size by weight: 1/5 ct about 5x3 mm; 1/3 ct about 6x4 mm; 5/8 ct about 7x5 mm.

Growing the stone is what lowers its cost, so a 5/8 ct pear here comes in well below a mined stone of the same size, with the bezel and chain already counted. Choose the gold first, then the size.

Answers, before you ask

Your Questions

Is the chain included?

Yes. Every size comes complete on a solid 14K gold 1 mm cable chain, adjustable from 16 to 18 inches, with a spring-ring clasp, in the same gold as the pendant.

How big does each carat weight look?

Approximate pendant sizes: 1/5 ct, diamond about 5x3 mm, pendant about 6.8 by 4.5 mm; 1/3 ct, diamond about 6x4 mm, pendant about 7.5 by 5.5 mm; 5/8 ct, diamond about 7x5 mm, pendant about 8 by 6.5 mm. The bezel adds only a narrow gold rim, so the pendant is barely larger than the pear inside it.

Is this a lab-grown diamond?

Yes, and it is diamond, not a simulant such as cubic zirconia or moissanite. The pear is grown rather than mined, graded VS clarity and F–G color, with the same hardness and chemistry as an earth-formed stone.

Which carat weight should I choose?

Note the jump: after 1/3 ct the next size is 5/8 ct, nearly double the weight. The 1/5 ct, about 5x3 mm, and the 1/3 ct, about 6x4 mm, are everyday sizes that sit well with other chains. The 5/8 ct, about 7x5 mm, is the one to wear on its own.

Can I return it?

Yes. Necklaces can be returned within 30 days of delivery, unworn and in original condition.
