What style is the chain, and how wide is it?
It is a bead chain, 1.5 mm wide, with small beads spaced along the chain. It is easy to wear alone or layered with other chains.
Is it solid or hollow?
It is made hollow, which keeps a wide chain light. Hollow links are more prone to dents, so take it off for sport and sleep.
Which length should I choose?
At 16 inches it sits at the base of the neck; at 18 inches it rests at the collarbone; at 20 inches it falls just below the collarbone; at 24 inches it falls at or below the bust.
Will it take a pendant?
Yes. The end ring of the chain is 2.2 mm, so a pendant slides on if its bail opening is at least 2.4 mm on its longer side.
What clasp does it use?
It fastens with a lobster clasp. A lobster clasp has a sprung gate that snaps shut, so it is easy to open with one hand and stays secure.
Which metals can I choose, and is white gold plated?
Choose 14K yellow, white or rose gold. The gold is 14K gold, never gold-plated, and this style is made hollow, which keeps it light. White gold is finished with rhodium, which a jeweler can refresh over time.
