Aquamarine Necklace, Diamond Starburst Halo

Top of the house. A 5.5 mm round aquamarine sits in a ring of fine bead prongs at the centre of a starburst of marquise-cut natural diamonds, set in two overlapping rows that radiate out to a 17.33 by 13.79 mm footprint. Five eighths of a carat in total.

The centre is held by a ring of fine bead prongs rather than four heavy claws. Spreading the grip across many small points lets each one be finer, so very little metal covers the crown and the aquamarine stays open at the middle of the rays.

It hangs on a solid cable chain, in the metal you choose, that adjusts between 16 and 18 inches, so you set the drop where you want it.

The occasions that only happen once: a twenty-fifth anniversary, a retirement, a fiftieth birthday in March.

The aquamarine is natural. Aquamarine is routinely heated to settle its colour, a permanent and industry-standard treatment, and these stones should be assumed heated.

Where the design carries diamonds, the accent diamonds are natural, never lab-grown or simulated, and are supplied to a published colour and clarity spec.
