Everything sits in service of the center here. A laboratory-grown ruby, the same corundum and the same nine on the Mohs scale as its mined cousin, glows a saturated red from within four tapering prongs. Look from the side and a row of tiny natural diamonds shows beneath the head. It arrives calibrated to your chosen size, so the fit is exact and the stone is always in stock. Warm metals deepen the color, white gold sharpens it. If you would prefer a mined ruby, that version is here too at a higher tier. Made to order for you. Every ring is made or sized to your ring size, and engagement rings are set with the center stone you choose, so a ring can’t be returned or exchanged for a refund or another size. Please confirm your size before you order; our concierge is glad to help. What exactly is the center stone?
A lab-grown ruby sits at the center, 1 to 2 ct, in your choice of five shapes. It is the same mineral as a mined ruby, grown in a lab. Carat weights are nominal, so the actual weight can run slightly under the figure shown.
What does the price include?
The price shown includes the setting, the lab-grown ruby center and the accent diamonds, set and finished for you.
Tell me about the accent diamonds.
The setting carries 18 to 32 natural accent diamonds, depending on the shape and center size. They are G to H color, SI clarity.
Which metals can I choose, and is white gold plated?
Choose 14K white, yellow or rose gold; or 18K white, yellow or rose gold. All the gold is solid 14K and 18K, never gold-plated. White gold is finished with rhodium, which a jeweler can refresh over time.
How wide is the band, and how high does the stone sit?
At the base the band is about 2 mm wide, and the setting rises about 4.9 to 6.8 mm from the finger, depending on the center size and shape.
Which sizes are offered, and can it be resized later?
US sizes 4 to 9, in quarter sizes. Our concierge can arrange resizing through our jeweler partner and will quote the cost before any work begins.
Can I return or exchange it?
Rings are final sale, as each is made or sized to your size; please confirm it first, and our concierge can help. If it arrives damaged, defective or not as ordered, tell us within 7 days of delivery and we'll repair, replace or refund it.
How do I care for ruby?
Hard enough for every day. Clean it with warm soapy water and a soft brush, and store it on its own.
