Lab-Grown Alexandrite Two-Stone Pendant

Two 4 mm round alexandrites at the ends of two bands that cross over each other before they reach the stones. One band is set with natural diamonds, the other is left plain polished metal, and the stones sit at different heights so neither is the centre.

The two-stone idea is old - it reads as a pair, a partnership, two dates - and the crossover is what stops it looking like a mistake. Five hundredths of a carat of natural diamonds runs along one of the two bands; the alexandrites are shown here in their warm incandescent state.

Anniversaries, and the two-of-something occasions a single stone cannot say: two children, two decades, two people.

Alexandrite changes colour with the light it is under: bluish-green in daylight and cool office light, warmer purplish-red under incandescent lamps and candlelight. Supplier imagery is a rendered representation and shows the stone in one colour state, so pieces across this collection are shown in different states. The stone is doing what alexandrite does.

The alexandrite is lab-grown. It is the same species and chemistry as mined alexandrite, the colour-change variety of chrysoberyl, with the same hardness and the same colour-change behaviour, and it is disclosed as lab-grown here, on the product page and on the invoice.

Where the design carries diamonds, the accent diamonds are natural, never lab-grown or simulated, and are supplied to a published colour and clarity spec.
