The amethyst is natural, the purple variety of quartz, and is heat-treated to even its colour, which is standard for this stone and permanent (AGTA enhancement code: Heating). Amethyst is light- and heat-sensitive: keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight, and clean it with warm soapy water and a soft brush rather than steam or an ultrasonic cleaner. The accent diamonds are natural, held to a representative G to H colour and I1 clarity.
