Pear Peridot & Diamond Necklace

A 5 x 3 mm pear-cut natural peridot bezel-set below a single .03 carat natural diamond - two stones, stacked vertically, nothing else. It is the only teardrop silhouette in the collection and the smallest pendant in it, which is precisely the point: this is a piece that layers.

The bezel matters more on a pear than on any other cut. A pear's point is its most fragile feature, and here it is wrapped entirely in metal rather than pinched under a prong.

At 8.57 x 6.48 mm it sits comfortably above or below a longer chain, and it is the most accessible diamond piece in the collection - a real diamond, set properly, at the opening of the range.

Natural peridot, untreated - peridot is one of the few gemstones that is essentially never enhanced. Peridot is 6.5-7 on the Mohs scale with distinct cleavage and is sensitive to thermal shock and acids. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush only - never an ultrasonic or steam cleaner. Store separately so harder stones cannot scratch it.
