Square Pink Tourmaline & Diamond Halo Necklace

A 4 by 4 mm square-cut natural pink tourmaline held in claw prongs (Stuller specifies a three-prong claw mount), inside a continuous diamond halo whose outer edge is softened to a cushion. Square stone, rounded halo: the contrast between the two outlines is what gives a 7.76 mm pendant more presence than its size suggests.

A square cut sends light back in four broad quadrants rather than scattering it, so the colour stays even across the table. The halo of natural diamonds supplies the sparkle around the edge that the cut itself does not.
