Sixteen natural diamonds ring a 5 mm white sapphire in a close halo, the center held on four claw prongs. Halo stones are 1 mm each and sit tight to the girdle, so the whole earring finishes at 7.6 x 7.6 mm. The frame reads as an outline traced on the stone rather than a second layer of jewelry set around it. Offered in 14K white, yellow and rose gold. Friction post and back. The diamonds are natural and non-serialized, color G-H. Clarity is not graded for stones at this size by our supplier. Treat the carat weight as nominal; it can vary slightly. Natural white sapphire is colorless corundum, supplier-graded AA. It takes daily wear well at 9 on the Mohs scale. The stone may have been heat treated to improve color and clarity, which is routine for this material and does not wash out. To clean, use warm water, mild soap and a soft brush on the setting. Natural stones vary a little, so yours may sit slightly differently from the photograph.
