White Sapphire Drop Hoop Earrings, .08 ct tw Diamond

A French-set band of natural diamonds curves round the hoop, with a 3 mm white sapphire suspended below it. French setting cuts a small V of metal away beneath each diamond, so light enters the stones from underneath and the band reads as a continuous line instead of a row of dots. Ten diamonds sit in each hoop, twenty across the pair, at 1 mm apiece. The earring runs 16.1 mm from the top of the hoop to the bottom of the sapphire, 10 mm across and 3.5 mm thick, on a friction post and back. The accent diamonds are natural and non-serialized, and their clarity differs by metal: the 14K gold versions are I1 clarity, G-H color, while platinum is SI2-SI3, G-H. Total carat weight is nominal and may vary slightly. Colorless corundum is what white sapphire is, and at 9 on the Mohs scale it handles everyday wear. The stone may have been heat treated to improve color and clarity, which is standard for the material, and permanent. Wash with warm water and mild soap, working a soft brush around the setting. No two natural stones match exactly; expect a little variation from the photograph.
