A half-bezel caps the point and leaves the sides open. Instead of claws, a partial bezel of polished metal wraps the pear's point, its most fragile edge, while open gaps at the sides let light into the stone. The look is modern and graphic: a crisp line of metal against the curve of the diamond. Lab-grown diamonds in small prongs run down both shoulders of a slim band, adding sparkle below without crowding the center. It suits someone who wants tip protection without the full enclosure of a bezel.
Choose a pear center from 0.65 to 2.75 carats. Each center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Carat weights are nominal and each size has a published range; the 1.10 ct size, for example, runs 1.00 to 1.20 ct. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, chemically and physically the same as mined ones. Available in 14K white, yellow or rose gold, or platinum. The accent diamonds are lab-grown, near-colorless stones matched to the setting. How does a half-bezel compare with a full bezel?
A full bezel encloses the entire stone in metal. A half-bezel covers the critical area, here the point, and leaves sections of the edge open. You get strong protection where a pear is most likely to chip, while more light reaches the diamond from the side. It also reads lighter and more contemporary than a complete rim.
Is the pavé band comfortable for everyday wear?
The accent diamonds run along the shoulders of a slim band, each held by small prongs, while the inside stays smooth against the finger. Pavé like this is secure for daily wear. Still, have the small prongs checked at a yearly cleaning, since they take knocks along with the rest of the band.
What quality is the center diamond?
Every pear center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Sizes are sold by nominal carat weight with a published tolerance range, so a stone may weigh slightly over or under the headline figure within that range. Can I have a natural diamond instead?
