Two rows of pavé lead up to a hidden halo. Sparkle runs in two directions on this ring. A double row of small lab-grown diamonds lines the shank, and a hidden halo circles the base of the head beneath the pear. Rounded claws hold the sides, while a V-prong caps the point, wrapping the tip in metal where a pear is most exposed. The band rises toward the head in a cathedral line. Pick it if you want brilliance from every angle.
Choose a pear center from 0.65 to 2.75 carats. Each center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Carat weights are nominal and each size has a published range; the 1.10 ct size, for example, runs 1.00 to 1.20 ct. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, chemically and physically the same as mined ones. Available in 14K white, yellow or rose gold, or platinum. The accent diamonds are lab-grown, near-colorless stones matched to the setting. What does the V-prong at the tip do?
A V-prong is a metal cap shaped to fit the point of the pear. Instead of a single small claw touching the tip, the metal wraps both sides of the point, which shields the thinnest, most chip-prone edge of the stone. It also keeps the point visually sharp, since the cap follows the shape of the diamond rather than rounding it off.
Does the double-row pavé need extra care?
Pavé diamonds are small and set close together, so they collect lotion and soap faster than a plain band. A soft brush with warm water and mild dish soap brings them back. Take the ring off for heavy lifting or rough work, since knocks to the side of the shank are where small pavé stones are most likely to loosen over time.
What quality is the center diamond?
Every pear center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Sizes are sold by nominal carat weight with a published tolerance range, so a stone may weigh slightly over or under the headline figure within that range. Can I have a natural diamond instead?
