Pavé hides on the side face of a knife-edge shank. The shank comes to a fine ridge along its top, the knife-edge profile, and its pavé of lab-grown diamonds is set along the side face rather than across the top. Looking down, you see a sleek line of polished metal. Turn your hand and a run of sparkle appears along the edge. Cathedral shoulders rise to the head, where claws hold the marquise, one at each point. Ideal for someone who likes detail that reveals itself slowly.
Choose a marquise center from 0.70 to 1.60 carats. Each center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Carat weights are nominal and each size has a published range; the 1.00 ct size, for example, runs 0.83 to 1.05 ct. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, chemically and physically the same as mined ones. Available in 14K white, yellow or rose gold, or platinum. The accent diamonds are lab-grown, near-colorless stones matched to the setting. Where exactly is the pavé on this band?
The small lab-grown diamonds run along the side face of the shank, below the knife-edge ridge, rather than across the top. From above, the band looks like clean polished metal. From the side, or as your hand moves, the row of pavé shows. It is a subtle way to add sparkle that the wearer notices more than anyone across the table.
How are the marquise points secured?
A claw sits at each tip of the marquise, with the head supported by the cathedral shoulders that rise from the band. This open claw setting lets the full outline of the stone show. Because the points of a marquise are its most delicate part, a quick check of the claws by a jeweler every so often is good practice.
What quality is the center diamond?
Every marquise center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Sizes are sold by nominal carat weight with a published tolerance range, so a stone may weigh slightly over or under the headline figure within that range. Can I have a natural diamond instead?
