Details
Beaded milgrain traces the outline of the stone. A frame of tiny metal beads, called milgrain, follows the outline of the marquise just below the stone and closes in around both points. Claws rise through that frame to hold the center. A fine row of pavé-set lab-grown diamonds runs along the top of the slim shank. The effect is vintage in spirit without heavy engraving or filigree, and the ring stays light on the hand. Made for someone drawn to antique detail.
Choose a marquise center from 0.70 to 2.55 carats. Each center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Carat weights are nominal and each size has a published range; the 1.00 ct size, for example, runs 0.83 to 1.05 ct. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, chemically and physically the same as mined ones. If you would rather pick an individually graded loose diamond, natural or lab-grown, build it in Design Your Ring.
Available in 14K white, yellow or rose gold, or platinum. The accent diamonds are lab-grown, near-colorless stones matched to the setting. Your ring is made to order in your size (US 3 to 11; see the sizing guide) and typically ships in about 5 to 10 business days by complimentary, insured UPS Express. More marquise settings are in our Marquise Engagement Rings collection.

Answers, before you ask
Your Questions
What is milgrain?
Think of milgrain as a row of tiny raised metal beads worked along an edge. Up close it reads as texture rather than ornament, and it softens a metal line so it catches light in small points rather than as one smooth reflection. On this ring the beads outline the marquise frame, which gives the head a delicate, textured border without adding bulk.
How are the marquise tips protected here?
Claws hold the stone, and the beaded frame beneath it follows the marquise right into both points, so each tip is bordered by metal rather than standing out on its own. As with any claw setting, it is worth having the claws checked by a jeweler from time to time, especially on a shape with two points like this one.
What quality is the center diamond?
Every marquise center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Sizes are sold by nominal carat weight with a published tolerance range, so a stone may weigh slightly over or under the headline figure within that range. If you want a specific graded stone, Design Your Ring lets you choose one individually.
Can I have a natural diamond instead?
This ring is offered with lab-grown centers. For a natural diamond, use Design Your Ring to choose a natural loose diamond with its own grading report and set it in one of our settings, or email concierge@diamondandsapphire.com and we will help.
How long does it take to make?
Each ring is made to order in your finger size. Most ship in about 5 to 10 business days, insured and signature-required. The product page shows the current timing before you check out.
