Paired claws guard each point on a clean plain band. Six claws hold this marquise, arranged as a pair at each tip plus one on either side, so neither point depends on a single prong. The band is plain polished metal with nothing to compete with the center. Look closely at the head from the side and you will find small lab-grown diamonds tucked along its underside. It is the classic marquise solitaire, kept simple, for someone who wants the shape itself to do the talking.
Choose a marquise center from 0.70 to 1.60 carats. Each center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Carat weights are nominal and each size has a published range; the 1.00 ct size, for example, runs 0.83 to 1.05 ct. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, chemically and physically the same as mined ones. Available in 14K white, yellow or rose gold, or platinum. The accent diamonds are lab-grown, near-colorless stones matched to the setting. Why two claws at each tip instead of one?
The points of a marquise are thin and come to a sharp end, which makes them the most vulnerable part of the stone. Setting two claws at each tip spreads the hold across both sides of the point, so a knock on that end is shared rather than resting on one prong. The side claws then keep the stone centered and level in the head.
How does the carat choice change the look?
This setting is offered with a 0.70, 1.00 or 1.60 ct center. At 0.70 ct the ring reads slim and delicate, a good match for a smaller hand or a minimal style. The 1.00 ct is the balanced middle. At 1.60 ct the marquise runs noticeably longer on the finger, and the plain band makes that length the clear focus of the design.
What quality is the center diamond?
Every marquise center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Sizes are sold by nominal carat weight with a published tolerance range, so a stone may weigh slightly over or under the headline figure within that range. Can I have a natural diamond instead?
