The halo comes to a point wherever the marquise does. A halo of round lab-grown diamonds outlines the marquise and follows it into both points, so the shape stays crisp instead of rounding off. Six claws hold the center inside that frame. More lab-grown pavé runs down the shank on each side, carrying the sparkle well past the head. Framed this way, the center reads larger from above. Suits someone who wants a glamorous, light-filled ring.
Choose a marquise center from 0.70 to 1.60 carats. Each center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Carat weights are nominal and each size has a published range; the 1.00 ct size, for example, runs 0.83 to 1.05 ct. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, chemically and physically the same as mined ones. Available in 14K white, yellow or rose gold, or platinum. The accent diamonds are lab-grown, near-colorless stones matched to the setting. Does the halo help protect the tips?
It helps. The halo is a ring of metal set with small diamonds that surrounds the whole center, including both points, so the tips of the marquise sit inside a raised frame rather than standing alone. The center itself is held by six claws. Like any halo ring, it is worth having it checked by a jeweler from time to time.
Which carat works best inside the halo?
The halo is offered with a 0.70, 1.00 or 1.60 ct center. Because the frame of diamonds extends the outline, a 0.70 or 1.00 ct center already reads large from above, which makes those sizes a strong value choice. The 1.60 ct gives the boldest look, with the pointed halo stretching the ring's length further along the finger.
What quality is the center diamond?
Every marquise center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Sizes are sold by nominal carat weight with a published tolerance range, so a stone may weigh slightly over or under the headline figure within that range. Can I have a natural diamond instead?
