Emerald-cut side stones add Art Deco structure to the center. Two emerald-cut lab-grown diamonds flank the marquise. Their long step facets throw broad flashes of light, a clear contrast with the livelier sparkle of the center. Each side stone sits in four claws, and claws also hold the marquise, including at both points. The plain, slim band keeps the focus on the trio. The rectangular sides give the ring an Art Deco feel, suited to someone who likes structure and clean lines.
Choose a marquise center from 0.70 to 1.60 carats. Each center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Carat weights are nominal and each size has a published range; the 1.00 ct size, for example, runs 0.83 to 1.05 ct. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, chemically and physically the same as mined ones. Available in 14K white, yellow or rose gold, or platinum. The accent diamonds are lab-grown, near-colorless stones matched to the setting. How do step-cut sides look next to a marquise?
Step cuts, like the emerald-cut side stones here, have long parallel facets that show broad, mirror-like flashes. A marquise is a brilliant cut, so it sparkles in smaller, busier points of light. Putting the two together creates contrast: the rectangles look calm and structured, and they make the brilliance of the center stand out more.
How are the marquise points protected?
Claws sit at both tips of the marquise, so neither point is left bare, and more claws hold its sides. The emerald-cut lab-grown diamonds are each held by four claws at their corners, which protects the cut corners of those stones too. Have the claws checked by a jeweler from time to time, as with any prong-set ring.
What quality is the center diamond?
Every marquise center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Sizes are sold by nominal carat weight with a published tolerance range, so a stone may weigh slightly over or under the headline figure within that range. Can I have a natural diamond instead?
