Details
Turned sideways, the center runs across your finger instead of along it. East-west means the emerald-cut center is set horizontally, its long sides parallel to the band. Four claws grip the cut corners. At each side of the head sits a tiny cluster of round lab-grown diamonds, a small detail that softens the transition from stone to shank. The band itself is slim and plain. The horizontal orientation gives a wider, lower look across the hand and feels a little unexpected. It suits someone who wants a solitaire that doesn't read as the default.
Choose a emerald-cut center from 1.10 to 4.00 carats. Each center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Carat weights are nominal and each size has a published range; the 1.85 ct size, for example, runs 1.75 to 2.00 ct. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, chemically and physically the same as mined ones. If you would rather pick an individually graded loose diamond, natural or lab-grown, build it in Design Your Ring.
Available in 14K white, yellow or rose gold, or platinum. The accent diamonds are lab-grown, near-colorless stones matched to the setting. Your ring is made to order in your size (US 3 to 10; see the sizing guide) and typically ships in about 5 to 10 business days by complimentary, insured UPS Express. More emerald-cut settings are in our Emerald Cut Engagement Rings collection.

Your Questions
What does east-west actually change?
In a standard setting, an emerald cut points from knuckle toward wrist. East-west turns it ninety degrees so the long sides run across the finger. The stone covers more width and less length, which can make a slender finger look broader and gives the ring a modern, horizontal line. The carat weight and the stone itself are the same either way.
What are the small diamonds beside the head?
They are tiny clusters of round lab-grown diamonds, one on each side of the head where the band meets the setting. They are accents rather than side stones, so the center stays the clear focus. From a short distance they add a glint at the shoulders; up close they read as a small finishing detail.
What quality is the center diamond?
Every emerald-cut center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Sizes are sold by nominal carat weight with a published tolerance range, so a stone may weigh slightly over or under the headline figure within that range. If you want a specific graded stone, Design Your Ring lets you choose one individually.
Can I have a natural diamond instead?
This ring is offered with lab-grown centers. For a natural diamond, use Design Your Ring to choose a natural loose diamond with its own grading report and set it in one of our settings, or email concierge@diamondandsapphire.com and we will help.
How long does it take to make?
Each ring is made to order in your finger size. Most ship in about 5 to 10 business days, insured and signature-required. The product page shows the current timing before you check out.
