Two strands twist up the band to meet the marquise. Two strands of metal twist around each other up the shank, with pavé-set lab-grown diamonds along the twist, so the band looks woven and catches light as the hand moves. The head rises from between the strands, and a claw at each point holds the marquise. Center options run from 0.50 to 1.00 ct, which keeps the stone in proportion with the fine vine. Suits someone who likes an organic, romantic band.
Choose a marquise center from 0.50 to 1.00 carats. Each center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Carat weights are nominal and each size has a published range; the 0.70 ct size, for example, runs 0.60 to 0.75 ct. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, chemically and physically the same as mined ones. Which carat suits the twisted vine?
This style is offered at 0.50, 0.70 and 1.00 ct. At 0.50 ct the twisted band and its pavé carry much of the sparkle, so the ring reads delicate and botanical. The 0.70 ct is a balanced middle. At 1.00 ct the marquise becomes the clear focal point while the vine frames it, a good choice if you want the center to lead.
How are the marquise tips held?
A claw sits at each point of the marquise, with the head supported between the twisting strands of the band. This open setting shows the full outline of the stone. Because a marquise's points are its most delicate area, it is sensible to have the claws checked by a jeweler now and then, as with any prong-set engagement ring.
What quality is the center diamond?
Every marquise center is a calibrated lab-grown diamond made to an F-G color, VS clarity specification. Sizes are sold by nominal carat weight with a published tolerance range, so a stone may weigh slightly over or under the headline figure within that range. Can I have a natural diamond instead?
